Shazeeda Ali, PhD, is an Attorney-at-Law who read law at the University of
the West Indies. She is a graduate of the Norman Manley Law School and
holds a Masters degree from the University of Cambridge and a doctorate
from the University of London.
Dr. Ali was a research assistant for the Financial Regulations Working
Group of the Society for Advanced Legal Studies and a member of that Society's
Anti-Corruption Working Group. At present, she is a legal consultant to the
Caribbean Development Bank. Dr. Ali has presented a number of papers at
international conferences and has published widely in regional and foreign
journals on issues relating to money laundering control and other aspects of
financial crime. She is the author of Money laundering in the Commonwealth
Caribbean, Kluwer Press.
Rose-Marie Belle Antoine, PhD, is an attorney-at-law and Programme Director,
LL.M. Programme and Senior Lecturer. She holds a doctorate from Oxford
University on the subject of Offshore Financial Law, an LL.M. from the
University of Cambridge and an LL.B. from the University of the West Indies.
Dr. Antoine, who is a Cambridge Scholar, Oxford Commonwealth Scholar
and Cambridge Fellow, serves as a legal consultant to governments and
international and regional organisations. These include the IDB, World Bank,
CARICOM, OECS, UNICEF, ILO, UNIFEM, UNDCP and the Government of
Canada. She is a contributor to several legal journals and the author of
Confidentiality in Offshore Financial Law, Oxford University Press, Law
and Legal Systems in the Commonwealth Caribbean, Cavendish, United
Kingdom, the CARICOM Harmonisation Report and co-author and editor of
the Unfair Dismissal Digest, ILO, Geneva, 2000. Dr. Antoine worked
previously at the ILO Headquarters in Geneva. As ILO consultant, she recently
drafted a Labour Law Code for Saint Lucia.
