Mentally ill woman bursts cop's head

The incident occurred along Burke Road in front of the Spanish Town Police Station. Reports are that about 3 p.m., the senior cop was walking when the woman attacked her from behind, striking her with the stone. This caused a head wound that bled profusely. The injured cop was rushed to the nearby Spanish Town Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. It is reported that the policewoman received five stitches and was placed on sick leave.
