The event, held weekly at Bommas Entertainment Complex at 13 Mall Road, Kingston 10, is the brainchild of Fabian Cole, aka Bommas, and his wife, Shakeria Cole, aka Shakky

"It's the top soul music event in the Corporate Area right now," said Bommas last week at a celebratory party to observe Soul Food Tuesdays' first anniversary.

Bommas said that Soul Food Tuesdays was born out of a desire to provide music lovers with "a different vibe from the dancehall type of setting". He is convinced that they have achieved that objective.

"It's less talk and more music," he said.

Patrice, a patron, said that she journeys from Portmore, St Catherine, weekly to feast on soul music.
