Spencer, 31, signed a contract extension with the FA Women's Super League (WSL) club on Wednesday, keeping her in North London until 2024. Spencer has been with the club since 2019 moving from West Ham United and had previously credited joining the Spurs as well as her debut international call-up last year in helping her rediscover her love for the game

Spencer said that finalising her stay at Spurs was a priority after the last international window and did not take much convincing for her to continue her career at Tottenham.

"Obviously, I am delighted to have signed a new contract. It was something that was on my mind coming back from the last international break and having that conversation nice and early made it really easy for me to make my decision," Spencer told the club website.

Her decision was made based on the upward trajectory of the club since gaining promotion to the top flight in 2019. They have finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in their first two seasons in the WSL and are currently in fifth place in the league table this season.
