Labour Law - Industrial Disputes — Terms of Employment — Hours of Work
By letter dated 19th September, 1375 the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment in accordance with section 11 of the Labour Relations and Industrial Disputes Act, 1975, referred to the Tribunal for settlement, an industrial dispute between the Employer and the unionised workers of the Company represented by the Trade Union.
The division of the Tribunal selected in accordance with section 8(2) of the Act to hear the dispute was as follows:–

The parties submitted written briefs and made oral submissions when the Tribunal met on the 5 th January, 1976.
The dispute arose over the effective date of the implementation of a 40 hour work week for the unionised workers of the Company.
We AWARD that the effective date for the implementation of the 40 hour work week be 1 st January, 1975.
